I would like to know how to configure hdsentinel 4.4. to use a data dir not program files or the registry for storing data and configuration. From a different thread I understand that there is an option to define a different data dir. But in V. 4.4 i cannot find this item.
XML export is in my understanding only a way to export data and the program files directory is still written.

Re: cfg and data files in different data dir
Yes, this is possible - but only in Hard Disk Sentinel Professional version.
In Hard Disk Sentinel Professional version, at the window (Configuration -> Advanced options) there is a button which can be used to configure where Hard Disk Sentinel Pro should store all settings, statistics, logs and further data files.
Please see image:
Yes, the XML export is a different function: it can be used to automatically export detected information (in addition to the internal database / statistics) as it can be opened and processed by other, third party tools.

Re: cfg and data files in different data dir
Thanks for answering.
Yes I use the standard edition. Anyway I managed to use my persistent ramdisk by using symbolic links for the relevant files and it works. Please do not "disable" this in further releases of the standard release.

Re: cfg and data files in different data dir
Thanks for your answer.
Excuse me, it is not really "disabled" - only the Professional version has the required functions to re-direct the configuration and statistic files to other folder (this is why the Portable version is also available only from the Professional version).
