hd_sentinel: thanks for very clear reply. Only just got back to this drive as have been using others. I did change the setting (as described above) and it did change to -96 as needed in the SMART settings window. However the text message in the main window remains as was ie "96 errors" etc...

I just replace one of the drives (not the OS one) with another (data only) and now the Help system is coming up just fine. Sorry for any inconvenience caused - but I am sure it was not working before - even across reboots.
