Hi hdsentinel
I bought a new ASUS Sata cable, and redid the surface test (usually 1 surface read test triggered 100 errors or so) and so far so good. Thanks, seems your application is flawless
cheers

Re: Read + Write + Read surface test. The exact danger?
Awsome. Thanks a lot for detailed response. I won't lie to you that I trust more in your knoledge than what I read on the forums, hence me buying a license of your software years ago ;) One last tiny question (sorry for off topic). If I get a big spikes (like from 122 - 229) of Ultra CRC Error count...

Re: Read + Write + Read surface test. The exact danger?
Thanks a lot for detailed response! Sorry that I didn't mention it in my question, but it was in relation to HDD ofcourse and I asked about it because I heard that magneticaly stored data tends to fade away over time (since it's magnetic). So I can store it theoreticaly for 10-20 years and if the HD...

Read + Write + Read surface test. The exact danger?
Hi hdsentinel Still using your product and still super satisfied :) I am today doing my usuall "hard drives tests" cycle and I've noticed again the "Read + Write + Read" which is interesting in case of refreshing those blocks. I got 2 questions concerning that test: 1) What kind ...

Re: Email notifications
Thanks hdsentinel for pointing me to the exact location where I can tweak it. Yes, the "brief..." setting seems like exactly what I was looking for. I changed that and will see how it works the next time I get an email. Thanks!

Email notifications
Hi hdsentinel
I got quick question here. I get from time to time alert email notifications stating in the title for example "critical value degradation", but how can I pinpoint from the content of the email what actually changed?
cheers

Re: Extended Self Test - Estimated Time Remaining "1 minutes"
> To give you more info, I was running the tests on the SSD's on my main OS (from 850 Pro). Yes, I thought it, as such issue is usually related to OS drive, which has constant (even minimal) disk activity. The problem is that screenshot I gave you is from the 840 Pro, so not the drive on which the ...

Re: Extended Self Test - Estimated Time Remaining "1 minutes"
Generally, it is more related to the disk controller (and its driver) than the device itself. Are the hard disks connected to the same disk controller? Even if they're all on the motherboard, there may be different controller(s) (usually SATA ports are color coded). Or, it is possible that the SSD ...

Re: Extended Self Test - Estimated Time Remaining "1 minutes"
Thanks for the answer hdsentinel. But that problem I can only observe on my SSD's (I have 3 of those), while my HDDs are finishing their extended test almost to the minute. Why is that?

Extended Self Test - Estimated Time Remaining "1 minutes"
Hi HD Sentinel. I got a question about the weird test time estimates. When I started the test on my Samsung SSD Pro 512GB it said something over 30 minutes at the start. Then when it reached 1 minutes it stayed like that for almost 10 hours: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dtwy7b2qfllhzqj/2015-01-07%2006_...

A more advanced notification options?
Hi hdsentinel I'm still in awe with your app, and not regret a bit buying 2 licenses last year. Definetly a worthy purchase. Anyways I was wondering if there is some setting which I can use that will either notify me by email or by popup, whenever something bad occurs with any of the harddrives. I k...

Re: Email reporting suddenly not working
Hi hdsentinel You were correct, although I'm not sure why I didn't get email from google about the "insecure login try" before. I did get it now when I tried to make the test again. That led me to the solution. In anyways, for someone else who might get this problem in the future, here are...

Email reporting suddenly not working
Hi hdsentinel I know I set it correctly and it worked about half a year ago, but now when I tried to test it I get an tray popup saying the report could not be sent and to check my configuration. But the problem is I didn't change anything in between. Were there some changes to a gmail configuration...
