Sorry, an a newbie. So I should run Disk -> Surface test -> Reinitialise disk surface ? That will fix the bad and the weak sectors?
OR is it better just to RMA the drive?

Re: Recertified HDD
Thank you so much. I did switch to Read-Write. So far so good. 80% and almost there. Takes a long time!

Recertified HDD
I bought a recertified (by Seagate) drive from one of the 2 better known sellers of such Enterprise drives. I tested it using the Extended Self Test which it passed. It is an 18TB HDD so it took about 20 ours (don't recall exactly). Am now running the Read + Write (deep test) + Read diagnostic. But ...

Seek and Read Error Rates on New Seagate Skyhawk AI HDD
Apologies if this is a dumb question but I am not techically included about HDDs. MARKUP.jpg ]Why am I getting this on a new Seagate? Is if defective? Only used for 2 weeks. I have a WD Purple that has been used for nearly a year with no issues. Both drives are used for Blue Iris CCTV recording so t...

Can I salvage this drive?
Newbie here. Please be patient as I am not too technically knwledgable about drives. Is this drive salvagable using HD Sentinel? If so, how? Which commands to run? Notice the low power on count. It was used as a continuous operation drive for an IP cam. The drive it self is conained in a Segate Expa...

Estimated remaining lifetime i
I have a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB. This was originally used as a boot drive. Later the laptop was retired but I put the drive back into use via a USB enclosure and having it on all the time as extra storage for work projects. Per HD Sentinel: The power on time is 1,246 days Estimated remaining lifetime...

Re: Doubt HDD aliexpress.
Why not just purhhased a refurb enteprise HDD from NewEgg or some other place if you have so many reservations about AliExpess. It is always hit or miss but at least for me, for non HDD produts, its been an overall win.

Re: Dark Green Spots
Thank you very much for your response. That is comforting to know the drive is OK. Out of curiosity, what could have caused the pending sector issue with the drive? Was it due to the constant Macrium usage? or somthing else? Also what exactly is the difference between a low level format and a HD Sen...

Firstly, thank you to the developers for the software. I had a pending sector count of 11. Various ways of low level formatting could not fix the HDD (WD 5TB Black Game Driive used for continuous Macrium Reflectr imagaing backups) until using your software. Those 11 pending sectors are now gone. But...
