Attribute 202 on Micron SSD's
This used to be correct, but changed after the latest update. On my Micron 1100 SSD's, HDS is showing that Attribute 202 is "Data Address Mark Errors." It used to be "Percentage Lifetime Used." That is what Crucial says it should be: https://www.crucial.com/support/articles-faq-s...

Re: Problems icon tray on windows 10
Okay, will do next time it happens. There isn't any problem when the icons are displayed, it's just that sometimes they wouldn't stay checked for some reason in the settings and after every reboot would disappear for the same drives.

Re: Problems icon tray on windows 10
I was just going to post the same problem. I can confirm that there has been an ongoing bug, at least in the last few versions. I don't lose all the icons at one time. On my system a few will disappear at a time. Even though I keep re-enabling them in the settings, the same ones will disappear on th...

ORICO 9558RU3
Still having problems with HDS identifying the drives in a RAID box with JMicron chipset. I sent another bug report for this new box I just got.

Re: False Numbers in Reallocated Sectors Count
I sent another developer report. I realize that one of the drives in my RAID box has pending sectors. I'm trying to empty it so I can replace the drive.

Re: False Numbers in Reallocated Sectors Count
I just attached the RAID box and everything is back to my initial post. Drive letters haven't changed. the RAID box was assign letter J, the last letter for my physical drives. I do have U-Z mapped as virtual drives from my NAS though. Everything was fine, like the problem didn't exist until I attac...

Re: False Numbers in Reallocated Sectors Count
If I'm correct, we discussed that the issue is NOT really related to the hard disk itself or Hard Disk Sentinel at all. I just checked the questions section and you did reply about the threshold, but for some reason I didn't get an email back in May that there was a new post. I just started up HDS ...

False Numbers in Reallocated Sectors Count
I thought this was a one time fluke on a single drive, but now every Seagate drive reports imminent failure and zero health because of this bug. HDS reports that the Reallocated Sectors Count Attribute has failed even though no sectors have even been reallocated. HDS used to show 10 100 100 for Seag...

How do I fix this SMART Threshold
Screenshot (2).png Screenshot.png Screenshot.png All of a sudden HDS is reporting an imminent failure on a hard drive that has no reallocated sectors, but HDS says the number of reallocated sectors mean it's going to fail soon. I've attached screenshots showing the worst and last values are perfect...

Re: RAID Status Reporting
Okay, I'll give your suggestions a try. I had a malfunctioning 2.5" SATA controller on a portable drive and that kept throwing the drives offline. After removing the bad drive I was only seeing the RAID0 drive, but now it's working again. That may have been the problem for this box. It's a Medi...

Re: RAID Status Reporting
Thanks for your reply. The Raid Enclosure does report status of individual drives, but for some reason HDS doesn't always see it.
I did submit a bug report yesterday. Hopefully you'll be able to see what's happening from that.

RAID Status Reporting
Does anyone know how HDS is supposed to report the status of drives in an external RAID box? I installed 4 old 2 TB WD Green drives in a Mediasonic USB 3.0 RAID enclosure. I set the box for RAID0 since I don't really care about losing data. I'm using the box for temporary storage. Initially HDS show...

Re: Bug Recognizing JMicron H/W RAID0
If there isn't a bug recognizing JMicron RAID0, why when I set the array up and transferred the system over USB, did it show up properly even though HDS see the individual drives over USB using the bridge chip I'm using? You can see it how it appears here when I tested it with other SSD's I had. Sho...

Bug Recognizing JMicron H/W RAID0
After I installed a dual mSATA to SATA RAID card in my laptop and configured it for RAID0, I noticed that HDS doesn't properly recognize it as a single drive. The size is correct for the combined drive, but since it sees it as 2 separate drives the total size is doubled and drive numbers are now dif...

Re: Ability to Sort Drives by Letter
I had forgotten about clicking on the status window to get the partition information. There they are in Logical Drive Order, but I was just thinking that you could actually combine the 2 windows into one by having a thermometer bar as background to the status window text and have the color change fr...

Re: Ability to Sort Drives by Letter
I can confirm, not hey are not in "random" order, but exactly the opposite: to prevent confusion and exactly to make the drive identification easier, Hard Disk Sentinel uses the same order of physical drives as they appear in Windows Disk Management. Yes, but you can't use Disk Management...

Ability to Sort Drives by Letter
Please add the option to sort the drives in the main and status windows by drive letter in Windows. The only visible place that most people know that Windows lists hard drives by number is in Disk Management. Since I have a multiple drives of the same or similar models it will make it easier to find...

Re: HDS Incompatible with Seagate Desktop Expansion Drives?
One other thing with this drive and the information in HDS. Attribute 242 Total LBA Read has been pegged at the top of the scale since a week after I added the drive. There is absolutely no possibility the value is accurate if the scale is MB read. The values for this attribute on my 5TB drive are p...

Re: HDS Incompatible with Seagate Desktop Expansion Drives?
Thank you for your detailed response. I posed the subject as I question because I wasn't sure why I was seeing the things I asked about. I didn't intend to suggest it was definitely a bug in the software. As you suggested, I will move the data off and do extensive testing of the drive to determine i...

HDS Incompatible with Seagate Desktop Expansion Drives?
I have been getting strange log entries and sudden increases of some SMART attributes in HDS, but Smartmontools shows no errors logged. I realize HDS only reports what's recorded in the SMART, but why the sudden increases as if HDS was unable to read the SMART at times and then when it could there w...
